City Farm is a model of urban agriculture, taking over abandoned city properties to create urban oases for Chicago residents and some of the city’s very best farm-to-table restaurants. Using chemical-free, small-plot intensive farming techniques, the farm produces nearly 25,000 pounds of high-quality produce per acre. Farmer activist Ken Dunn will show and tell us how it’s done. Chef Jason Hammel is among the very best of past OITF guest chefs. A few years ago, he joined us out on a country farm; this time he will be a little closer to home. Jason is a 2018 James Beard Foundation semi-finalist for Best Chef: Great Lakes in recognition of his work at Lula Cafe.
