Gotham Greens pioneered the future of urban greenhouse farming when they opened in Brooklyn in 2011, bringing crisp, local produce to urban communities year-round. Gotham Greens now has three urban greenhouses in New York City, and in 2015 they expanded to a massive Chicago rooftop, where they grow 10 million heads of leafy greens and herbs each year. Gotham Greens' Chicago farm sits on the roof of Method Products' South Side Soapbox manufacturing facility – a merging of like minds and forward-thinking eco-businesses. Host farmer Jenn will show us around the roof before we sit down to an intimate meal of Gotham’s greens and colorful Chicagoland produce. Guest chef Christopher Mangless is making the journey from Green Bay for the event – he is The Traveling Chef after all. Chris is known for popping up in surprising places with curated menus that celebrate the region, and creating hyper-local menus that pay tribute to the host farm.
