People often ask us what our favorite states are. It’s a tough question, but Maine is without doubt a contender. Portland is the nation’s coolest food city according to Bon Appetit, due in part to people like guest chefs Damian and Ilma Jeil. They’ll bring their French/Spanish twist to the colorful bounty of Bumbleroot Organic Farm, plus some fresh-caught seafood if we’re lucky. Ilma Jeil was a 2018 James Beard Award semi-finalist for Outstanding Pastry Chef at Piccolo. A certified-organic farm just 20 minutes outside the city, Bumbleroot grows an abundance of vegetables, herbs and flowers – and is close enough to the coast to catch a sea breeze.
