It’s been a long-time dream of ours to set our long table on an ocean pier. This May that dream comes true for a magical meal on the Malibu Pier, a historical icon of Southern California surf culture. A seat at the table guarantees striking views of the Pacific coastline and a soundscape of waves beneath your feet; the full-horizon sunset is bound to be pretty spectacular too. Chef Ernest Lopez joins us from Malibu Farm to prepare a California-inspired feast that celebrates the flavors of the sea and a wealth of farmers across the region. Bear Flag fisherman/owner Thomas Carson and Captain Nate Perez will come up from the Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach with fresh catch for Chef Ernest's menu and sea stories for the table. And host farmer and forager Kerry Clasby, known by local chefs as the “produce whisperer,” will contribute fresh plant goodness sourced from a network of SoCal farms and secret fields. Kerry was among many farmers whose homes and land were devastated by the 2018 Wolsey Fire. A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to assist her in rebuilding and recovery.
