Green Gate Farm is our second-ever event in the beautiful state of West Virginia. Farmer Lars started the farm with his parents in 2010. Leslie handles the produce side of things, while Lars tends to the pigs, chickens and the draft horses, the farm’s primary source of field power. Chef Tarver King is a multiple James Beard Foundation nominee for Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic and has received praise from Food & Wine, Wine Spectator, Bon Appetit and Esquire magazine. Tarver is also a longtime friend of Outstanding in the Field. Last year, he joined us a few weeks after becoming a father for the first time. This year we will get an update on the family, and on his newest project, Tanglefoot, opening in Charles Town this Spring, with a focus on the dishes of the Appalachia.
