Johnathan Sundstrom is a legend. John is the chef who went the extra mile for Outstanding in the Field, literally. When our boat didn’t show up for our “Isthmus that becomes an Island at High Tide Dinner” in 2005, it meant John had to wheel the grill across the marsh -- for a full mile. As John rolled the grill, the OITF crew schlepped the tables, chairs, plates and everything else on our backs. And the NY Times was there to record it all. It was a few years before we gathered the chutzpah to ask John back, and a few more years for him to accept. This island and farm will have profoundly easier access, which is a good thing.
