Portland is the traditional first stop when the OITF culinary circus heads North from California. For the traveling staff, it will be four months of adventure and celebration before returning to California, many states and around 10,000 guests later. It helps that Portland is warm to our cause. Everyone here believes in the “food movement” mission and shares in the enthusiasm that helps us stay strong in the face of all the challenges on the road. Vibrant Valley is a woman-run farm and these women provide a lot of food to a slew of Portland’s best restaurants. Chef Timothy has cooked at many of those restaurants, and is now living the life of a free agent, popping up in kitchens all around town.
