Last year, our Iowa table was set against a very colorful backdrop of zinnias and dahlias. Of course, every year is different on the farm. Maybe this year we’ll find ourselves in the shade of the apple trees. That’s part of the fun of farm dinners: each season and each harvest has its own story. Whatever it is, we will put our table in the middle of it. Chef Joe Tripp is a 2016 James Beard nominee for Best Chef: Midwest (a first for Des Moines).
